At the very heart of all Madge matters, is a simple truth: I am a long-standing fully paid-up member of the great outdoors – wild at heart – fraternity and sorority. I have done my best, these days, to keep paragliding, riding, mountain walking and sailing – the rest can wait for now. And to keep on having fun (be more wolf, as Elli Radinger in her wonderful book, Wisdom of Wolves, tells us). And grandchildren suggest more serious outdoor fun is not that far away – tree-climbing with ropes, Alice?
